Siena-Francis House Shelter

A new $18 million shelter for the homeless opened December 2019 at the Siena-Francis House campus near 17th & Nicholas Streets. The facility has 450 bed capacity, accommodating 350 men and 100 women.  It includes a full-service commercial kitchen, dining, dock, and donation area, as well as food pantry and clothing distribution.  In addition, the shelter contains community partner consultation,  case management and counseling spaces. The Siena Francis House is the largest homeless shelter in Nebraska serving over 431,000 meals and 3,400 individuals in 2018. This project was funded through the generosity of the Omaha community.
