Tetrad Property Group Selected to Redevelop Omaha Civic Auditorium site

Omaha’s Civic Auditorium could be demolished in 2015 and replaced by an office tower, apartments, shops and restaurants over the subsequent three or four years. Mayor Jean Stothert said Friday (August 8, 2014) that’s the timetable she’s hoping for, now that the city has chosen a developer for the project.

A committee of city officials chose Omaha-based Tetrad Property Group to redevelop the downtown auditorium and its four-square-block site. Tetrad will partner with Iowa-based NuStyle Development Corp., which has redeveloped numerous downtown Omaha buildings into residences and business space. The developers plan to work with architecture and engineering firm HDR Inc. and with Kiewit Building Group.
